4 Ways to Decrease Inflammation

4 Ways to Decrease Inflammation

The medical definition of inflammation is “a local response to cellular injury that is marked by capillary dilation, leukocytic infiltration, redness, heat, and pain and that serves as a mechanism initiating the elimination of noxious agents and damaged tissue.”

Inflammation can happen in many parts of your body and may have many different causes. Besides being related to health issues, it is also very uncomfortable. We’ve made this short list of things you can do to help.

  1. Hydrate
Drink lots of water, as recommended by your doctor! Your body needs water to survive and it also helps to flush out your systems and maintain healthy body regulations. It is something that’s easily overlooked especially in the Summer, so definitely consider upping your water intake.
  2. Lymphatic massage
These are amazing to help with inflammation particularly in your connective tissue, which is all over your body. It’s also been known to help with stiffness and depression. Make sure to get a lymphatic massage at a trusted location with a certified therapist. At `Balanced Rejuvenation, we pride ourselves in having one of the best, Dianna Lee, who is educated in many healing therapies.
  3. Move!
Get outdoors or to the gym and get some physical activity. Run, walk, swim, take a yoga class, do some gardening. Anything that gets you up and out of your seat. It will boost your metabolism and get your blood flowing, and help to drain edema and inflammation.
  4. Find out your food sensitivities and avoid foods that encourage bloating
Any sensitivity to food is going to lead to inflammation. One of the most efficient ways to do this is to stop guessing and to get an ALCAT test. It will specifically tell you what foods you may be sensitive to, through cellular testing that looks for micronutrient deficiencies. You can get this test with us at Balanced Rejuvenation with Dr. Ohms.
